¡Dia de los Muertos!

by | Oct 30, 2022 | Watch

Taped before a live audience in the “underworld” of The Caverns subterranean amphitheater, ¡Dia de los Muertos! is a musical celebration of this much-anticipated and highly celebrated fiesta by people of Mexican heritage everywhere. Special guests include Latino rock greats, Los Lobos, the salsa-rap-reggae-funk of Ozomatli—both Los Angeles-based—and the all-female mariachi band Flor de Toloache from New York City. Between artists, traditions deeply rooted in this holiday will be examined in short vignettes explaining the meaning, origins, and importance of these two important days on the Latino calendar. ¡Dia de los Muertos! is a cultural celebration, a high energy, eye-catching offering to lift up a wonderful, ancient tradition. ¡Dia de los Muertos! is a Todd Jarrell Production in association wth PBS and Latino Public Broadcasting.
